Parents, what to do?

We read a lot about what to do when planning our wedding, and everywhere said talk to all of the parties who would be involved in paying for the wedding. My fiancee and I both sat down with each set of parents and discussed what we were hoping they would cover.

Everyone was really excited and told us not to worry and that they would all do exactly what they asked. Now as we are getting closer and starting to book our vendors, my parents aren't coming through. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get them back on track? Also, my fiancee is frustrated by the situation, should he be or not?

Unfortunately, one thing you can't control in your wedding planning is your parents. I totally understand how hard it is to work with all of the parents involved and try to get them to do what you need.

Maybe you could try talking to your parents again and letting them know how important it is to you that they follow through on their commitments because you are trying to plan a very big event. If nothing else, tell them you at least need them to be honest with you if they are not going to be able to help at all.

I hope your parents have a good reason to not commit with the money. Because their promise has now put quite he financial strain on planning your wedding. You could have compensated in the beginning had you not expected the money in the first place. Good Luck
