I couldn't have imagined it better!

On May 29, 2004, I arrived in Columbia (after attending my younger sister's high school graduation in Springfield) to find a dress, a pair of shoes, and a note awaiting me on the bed. The note read that he "wanted to thank me for the night we were about to have." I got dressed up for a preplanned dinner date, and arrived at his house at 6:30. I had a sneaking suspicion of what was about to happen, but didn't want to get my hopes up. I knocked on the door (I normally wouldn't) and he yelled for me to come in. I opened the door, and the entire room was drenched in candlelight, white drapery, and over 6 dozen red roses. He was on one knee center-scene (ring box in hand). A lattice hung above us with ivy and twinkly lights all over. A speech was delivered, however, all that was heard was "Will you..." in the midst of the tears. I said "yes."
