~ How We Met ~
Charles and I met in school about 8 years ago. We have always been friends. He was always a person I could talk to. About 4 years ago my father past away and I started noticing how much he really cared about me. He was by my side every day weither in person or on the phone helping me get through when I needed a friend the most. He pushed a lot of people out of his life as well as I did just to be with each other. We just hung out for about a year before we actually declared ourself together. He gave me my time to make sure I was ready for a relationship instead of trying to push me into one because I had went through a lot and I respected that more than he'll ever know. It wasn't long after that we were inseperable and everyone could see that. We went through a lot to keep our relationship together because there were some people who didn't agree with it. Five years later we're still together stonger than ever. It's hard enough to make a relationship work by yourself without fighting the world to keep it going. We've been through so much in these 5 years, a lot of hurt, a lot of angry, a roller coaster if you will, but our love has kept us together. I've never been more certain that he is the man I want to stand by than I am right now. We have a beautiful child together, we support each other in our decisions, we've learned to compromise, and most important he's my best friend.

~ The Proposal ~
I was on the 4-12 shift at the prison so we had everyone stay the night at our house for Christmas Eve to open presents when I got home. In the process of handing out eveyone's presents he walked over to me in front of everyone and asked me to stop because he had something important to tell me. The moment I turned around I saw the box in his hand, I had no idea, he opened the box, got down on one knee and told me he wanted everyone to see him ask me to be his wife. I was speechless but I did manage to get that "yes" out. My eyes teared up, everyone was clapping and I was in complete aw. "It's about time", was the comment for the night...lol. To have my mother and family watch my future husband propose to me on Christmas Eve could not have been more perfect. Not to mention he had only been on his job for 2 weeks it was his first paycheck and he sacrificed all of it to make the holiday so rememberable for everyone, especially me.
