~ About Us ~

We are bothe very excited about out future and this union. It is a blessing to have our moms involved and excited too. We look forward to the future and all that God has for us.

~ How We Met ~
We met in 1988. Wow, it seems like yesterday. I lived down the street from a girl that met one of Nick's friends on the first day of school. The next day, ten of us decided to hang out. This guy pulled up in a grey Buick Regal to meet us. Have you guessed who I am talking about? If Nick told this part of the story, he would tell you that I fell head over heals for him right there! If you want to hear the truth, please ask me. We hung out within the same circle of friends for months and one day, he and I finally had conversation away from our circle of friends. Phone calls lasted hours and hours, we just clicked. Our friendship grew from there and over the years, it became more than a friendship. Of couse, we were young and life took us in different directions. As time went by, we would hear about how the other was doing through mutual friends. Going forward and after many years of losing contact, I had a strong desire to find Nick. I needed to know how he was doing. So, I started searching for him. Nick gives me credit for my hunting skills! Thank you sweetie. One day, a message arrived on his doorstep, guess who? It was from me. I found him! In 2003, we just picked up where we left off so many years ago and had so much catching up to do. We were burning up the phone lines again! Of course, God's plan was much greater than ours and in 2004, God met us right where we were. Individually, Nick and I had a face to face encounter with God and He has taught us how to love with His heart. You know we have to give God praize! If it were not for Him and all of his blessings, this relationship and all of the many joys we have celebrate would have never come to pass. Through God we have reached levels of love and respect, that I never thought possible. I have been blessed with the man of my dreams, above and beyond. Nick was my first love and now, God is our first love. In this order, we can offer one another more than we ever thought possible. Nick is one of the best men I know, my best friend and soon to be the man I spend the rest of my days on this earth with, I am God's favorite child. Words could never express how richly blessed I am. The most awesome part about it is that no one can have the credit but God!

~ The Proposal ~
Nick and Mona sailing on the Carnival Cruise Ship, "Essence of Love Cruise" destination, Catalina Island. On February 14th, we arrived on the island and walked through the Botanical Gardens, to the top of the Wrigley Memorial. The view was breathtaking, or was it the walk up to the top? Just kidding. The setting was picture perfect. I was sitting there taking in the view and Nick asked, "Do you want your Valentine's gift now?" I responded, "yes." He gave me a small Juicy Couture Box, he is so good to me. Baubles, Baubles, Baubles! The inside of the little pink and brown box held the cutest lil' charm of a little purse, for my gold bracelet. My baby gives the best gifts. I thought, how nice it would be if....and told myself, "do not be ungrateful, it is a nice gift, sound happy Mona." I was trying to hide the hopes that it was the engaement ring he and I found together earlier in the month. I had to say something so, I said, "oh, it is cute where should I put it, I do not have my bracelet here?" I was trying to find a place to hang this little charm... and at that moment, a couple came walking towards us. They noticed that he had given me a gift and Nick asked the gentleman to take a picture of us. I was showing his wife my charm and I could hear Nick in the backround asking her husband to video us. I did not put two and two together. Nick stood in front of me and said, "Ok, so your gift is two parts." I still did not get it. I heard the woman yell for her husband Don (the videographer) to back up! "Back up Don!" She must have had a feeling that something was going to happen. I still did not have a clue. Nick was down on bended knee in front of me and said, "I have never done this before, you know your my best friend, and asked if I would marry him." I was crying before he finished and so was our videographer's wife! Just then a woman overheard my last name-to-be and she yelled, "I am a Navarro too!" She shared that she is still happily married after 33 years. Seconds later, 3 nuns in habits, wearing wooden crosses, c himmed in, they shared the same last name too! It was so special! Their well wished made it feel like family was there on the mountain with us. We had people in the tower above us looking down and cheering too. The video blesses me everytime I see it. How happy we are and looked...the day was incredible. That evening we were blessed to have an awesome man of God on the ship preach and autograph his books for us too. It was like an engagement gift from God. Here is how God worked-the water was rocky and we could not get to Catalina on the date we were to arrive. He kept us out at sea until Valentine's Day. Then he calmed the water and gave us a beautiful day. Nick planned a proposal for the evening, God spoke to him to be prepared and he brought my ring that morning. Then he stratigically placed a couple to video our event and sent confirmation that our union was blessed. Only God, only God.
